University of Colorado Anschutz Medical CampusDepartment: Community PracticeJob Title: PRN Registered Vascular Tech – Interventional Radiology, Highlands RanchPosition #: 00853540 – Requisition #: 41211 Job Summary:The Registered Vascular Tech will perform advanced vascular imaging studies utilizing state-of-the-art ultrasound technology and physiologic imaging equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease. This position is responsible for daily operations of the vascular laboratory, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assessment at our Interventional Radiology location. Key Responsibilities: At the direction of a qualified physician or advanced practice provider, performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for the diagnosis of disease in humans. Performs high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations including, but not limited to, upper and lower extremity arterial duplex, upper and lower extremity venous duplex, aorto-iliac duplex, renal duplex, mesenteric duplex, dialysis access evaluation, and pre-operative/post-operative vein mapping. Performs high-quality physiologic studies including, but not limited to, ankle-brachial index (ABI), pulse volume recording (PVR), and photoplethysmogram (PPG). Reviews patient medical history and physician or advanced practice provider's orders in order to perform prescribed study. Works with the Medical Director to formulate or revise imaging protocols, policies, and procedures utilized in the production of images. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:A High School Diploma or GED.Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.Two (2) years of experience working as an Ultrasound Technician. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:Three or more (3+) years of vascular experience.Experience working in vascular surgery or related practice.Experience setting up sterile and non-sterile procedure trays and medical procedure rooms.Experience and knowledge of medical chart preparation and setup.Experience with EPIC.Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS).Bilingual, Spanish preferred.
