We have an immediate need for a highly skilled and experienced PRN Radiologic Technologist for our clinic in Denver, CO.

As a Radiologic Technologist you will perform technical skills with the use of the C-arm to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for interventional purposes, while demonstrating quality control. Performs any other duties deemed necessary, within their scope of practice, to ensure optimal patient care and physician service.

Duties Include:

1. Position patient on examining table; set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.

2. Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians. Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards.

3. Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.

4. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Participates and maintains safety and dignity of patient at all times.

5. Actively participates in timeouts by confirming patient identification, correct procedure, side/site, etc.

6. Completes and maintains appropriate radiation training and competencies. Assists in monitoring radiation methods that expose all staff to the least amount of exposure.

7. Assists in maintaining radiological equipment and proper badge usage and storage. Troubleshoots problems with the C-arm. Maintains proper use of x-ray equipment including lead aprons.

8. Documents fluoroscopy usage and correct storage of images as determined by site. Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties.

9. Effectively communicates with all providers and staff members.

10. In addition, have demonstrated competency in and routinely perform duties in at least one of the following:

a. Procedures: Applies and monitors principles of aseptic technique throughout intra-operative period. Assists provider by having all necessary equipment available and ready. Efficiently “turns over” rooms between patients following proper cleaning technique. Communicates all breaches of aseptic technique immediately to the provider and circulating nurse.

Requirements

  • Vocational/Technical or Associate degree in radiological technology from accredited X-Ray technician program.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.
  • Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.
  • Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities.
  • The ability to contribute in a team environment and/or independently, to provide excellent customer service.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited RT program.
  • BLS certified or obtain certification within six months of hire
