As a Physical Therapist, you willutilizevarious treatments to help patients increase strength, range of motion,enduranceand coordination. Because this position requires close physical interaction, you have the unique opportunity to develop strong patient relationships.The ideal Physical Therapist is a highly skilled and adaptable professional dedicated to restoringfunction, improvingmobilityand enhancing patient outcomes. This individualdemonstratesstrong critical thinking skills in evaluating and developing treatment plans while effectively collaborating with physicians, co-workersand support staff. They excel in prioritizing patient care, ensuring safety awareness/patientsafetyand adapting techniques to provide individualized care.Often, patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is essential. Equally important is giving patients the drive and support they need to work hard and regain their health.
This is an ideal role for a newgradwho is open-minded, willing to step outside of their comfort zone and is looking to get their foot in the door. This is a great steppingstone position that will allow you toadvance your skills with each patient interaction and one that can lead to afull-timerole and beyond.
A PRN caregiver in this position works varyingshifts, Monday-Friday, between7:00AM – 7:30PM. Only two shifts per week will berequiredpast 5:00PM. Hours will vary based on clinic needs.
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
Perform initial andon-goingassessments ofpatient'scondition.
Establish,reviseand evaluate a plan of care which isappropriate toproblemsidentifiedand involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
Perform therapy interventionsutilizingstandard physical therapy techniques and skills asappropriate forthe age and condition of the patient.
Supervise activities of physical therapy assistants,studentsand other support personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree or certificate
Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
Experience in a clinical area
Newgrad
