
Patient Scheduler - Pediatric Therapy
PRN; Shift Varies
Perform multiple functions associated with the overall coordination of patient care within the Outpatient Rehab/Pediatric Therapy Department which include but are not limited to registration in multiple software applications, scheduling of appointments within and outside of the department, retrieving medical records, obtaining referrals, ordering department supplies, collecting copays and outstanding patient balances, and triaging phone calls by patients and outside providers.
During patient registration this position will be responsible for gathering demographic and financial information that is pertinent for the outpatient visit to maintain customer satisfaction and BHH financial viability.
This position holds responsibility of collecting referrals and/or authorizations as needed to meet the ever-changing payer requirements.
Ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations and/or regulatory agencies.
This position should be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, physicians, clinicians, other office staff, and outside providers in various environmental settings to reflect BHH values and culture.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred.
Previous experience in scheduling or as a department secretary preferred.
Recent experience in specialty preferred.
