Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs) within Perioperative Services perform various tasks, ensuring patients receive frequent attention and feel comfortable, supported and safe throughout treatment. Some of your daily responsibilities will include helping with transporting patients from the floors, rounding on patients, emptying foleys/drains and more. Patients in this area can be anxious and nervous, allowing you to have the chance to ease tension and their anxiety as they prepare to be in a new environment. An ideal caregiver in this role should have strong communication skills to interact with both patients and nurses. In this role, you will gain a wide variety of skills you can use in advanced positions or other departments within the Cleveland Clinic system.
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 5:00AM – 6:30PM, including every 5th weekend and up to two holidays per year.
