May performs waived and moderate high complexity testing according to CLIA ‘88 guidelines;
interprets and reports results for established tests in Microbiology. Performs quality control, quality
assurance and maintenance. Works independently but under the supervision of the department
coordinator or a certified technologist/technician. Duties include clerical tasks, specimen collection,
accessioning and processing of specimens. Answers phones, relays patient results and monitors
expected/outstanding logs.
