As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:

  • Provide occupational therapy services by following the care plan developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Visit patients regularly and monitor their progress during each visit.
  • Report changes in a patient's condition to the Occupational Therapist, physician, and care team.
  • Follow physician orders and the established plan of care.
  • Teach patients and caregivers home therapy exercises and safe techniques.
  • Work closely with the care team to provide coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation for each patient visit.
  • Help reduce avoidable hospital and emergency room visits through proactive patient care.
  • Stay up to date on healthcare regulations and agency policies.
  • Work in a physically active role that may include lifting, transferring patients, and occasional irregular or on-call hours.

What is Required?

  • Graduate of a certified occupational therapy curriculum established by the Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current, unrestricted COTA certification in the state of work  
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a COTA in a clinical care setting
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations.
