PRN Certified Nursing Assistant: Medical/Surgical Unit

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential patient care and support under the direction of nursing staff. This role is vital in promoting patient comfort, safety, and overall well-being within the Medical/Surgical unit.

Position Details

• Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
• Shift: 12-hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Department: Medical/Surgical Unit
• Schedule: Days vary based on patient care needs
• Travel: None required
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and comfort
• Obtain and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team
• Support patient safety and maintain a clean, organized care environment
• Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients and families
• Assist with patient transport and basic care needs as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in North Carolina
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
• Experience: Previous patient care experience preferred, but not required

Employment Requirements

• Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
