Job Requirements

We are seeking a senior-level associate (with a minimum of four to eight years of experience) with a proven track record in sophisticated estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, trust and estate administration, and gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Exceptional mid-level candidates with strong credentials and demonstrated leadership ability will also be considered. This is a hands-on role for someone ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate:

  • is in good standing with the Texas Bar, or eligible for admission to the Texas Bar.

  • ranked in the top of their law school class or graduated from a top-tier law school.

  • may have an LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (strongly preferred, though not required if the candidate otherwise has a solid trusts and estates background).

Representative Experience

  • Designing and drafting complex estate planning documents, including revocable trust agreements, ILITs, SLATs, IDGTs, GRATs, and related wealth transfer structures.

  • Transferring QSBS stock, business interests, and real estate, including addressing the complexities of entity structures, valuation, succession planning, and tax implications.

  • Managing and overseeing complex trust and estate administrations, including trust modifications, decantings, mergers, nonjudicial settlement agreements, and trust terminations.

  • Conducting sophisticated legal research and analysis involving multijurisdictional and occasionally cross-border estate planning considerations.
