Private Equity Strategic Growth Market AI Strategy Intern

Location: McLean, VA

Join Deloitte’s Private Equity Strategic Growth Market (SGM) team as a Private Equity SGM AI Strategy Intern, where you’ll support AI strategy and go-to-market initiatives for private equity clients and portfolio companies. In this role, you’ll work with the Private Equity (PE) AI leader and cross-functional teams to research market trends, develop materials, and support projects that help shape Deloitte’s AI offerings in a rapidly evolving market. This internship offers hands-on experience at the intersection of strategy, emerging technology, and client service, with exposure to senior leaders across the organization.

Work you'll do

As a Private Equity SGM AI Strategy Intern on the Private Equity Strategic Growth Market team, you will be responsible for supporting AI strategy, research, and project delivery initiatives.

  • Support research and analysis related to Deloitte’s AI strategy within the private equity sector, including market landscapes, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology trends
  • Assist in developing frameworks, presentations, and materials that communicate AI strategy and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the PE AI leader and broader Strategic Growth Market team on project delivery and opportunity identification
  • Conduct market research on AI adoption patterns, use cases, and practices relevant to private equity clients and portfolio companies
  • Contribute to internal thought leadership by synthesizing findings and drafting content for reports or client-facing materials
  • Participate in team meetings, intern programming, and the Enterprise Solutions Intern Conference as schedule permits

The team

The Private Equity Strategic Growth Market team within Enterprise Solutions sits at the intersection of client strategy, business development, and emerging technology. The team works across Deloitte businesses and directly with private equity clients to advance AI offerings for private equity firms and portfolio companies. This internship is connected to Deloitte’s PE AI leadership and offers visibility into how the firm develops, scales, and operationalizes AI capabilities in the market.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or Liberal Arts with artificial intelligence coursework or project experience
  • Target graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027
  • Coursework, research, extracurricular involvement, or project experience in artificial intelligence
  • Availability to participate full-time in an 8-10 week internship with a start date on or before July 6, 2026
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

Preferred:

  • 3.2+ cumulative GPA
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating presentations, reports, or research summaries
  • Coursework or project experience involving artificial intelligence tools, machine learning, or data analysis
  • Experience conducting market research, competitive intelligence, or trend analysis
  • Coursework or project experience in private equity, financial services, or professional services

This role will not be converted into a full-time position.
