JOB ROLE

My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented associate with 2–3 years of relevant transactional experience in trust and estate planning and administration to join their nationally recognized Private Client Services Group. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on sophisticated wealth planning matters across multiple jurisdictions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Advise clients on the design and implementation of comprehensive estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and advanced wealth transfer strategies.
• Structure and draft estate planning documents tailored to meet clients’ personal, financial, and tax objectives.
• Counsel clients on federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax considerations.
• Assist with trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings, asset collection, valuation, and distribution.
• Prepare and review estate and gift tax returns, and coordinate with accountants and other advisors on tax compliance matters.
• Support fiduciaries (executors, trustees) in fulfilling their duties, including advising on risk management and dispute avoidance.
• Participate in business succession planning for closely held businesses, including coordination with corporate and tax teams.
• Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in tax law, estate planning strategies, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to provide seamless, high-quality client service on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• 2–3 years of experience in trust and estate planning and administration.
• Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clients.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client matters independently while contributing to a team environment.
• LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
