As a member of the Founders leadership team, the Press Department Manager is responsible for leading the pressroom operations

Responsibilities
- Safety: Create a culture that fosters an injury free workplace and a safe work environment. Ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Financial: Review production standards and actual performance to assure accuracy of estimated labor costs.
- Capacity & Scheduling: Follow daily press schedule using the Customer Service Open Order report minimizing labor costs and maximizing throughput and equipment capacity. Prioritize jobs considering conflicting requests between Customer Service and Press. Maintain a visual schedule within the plant daily. Ensure shipments are made in a timely manner.
- Customer Relationship: Promote a customer-focused culture in the plant, ensuring on-time deliveries of a quality product and supporting the development of new products and technologies. Determine root cause and corrective action in response to customer complaints. Make customer site visits and participate in customer visits at MCC as needed.
- Production Goals and Objectives: Establish, monitor, and achieve production operating metrics (KPI’s).
- Housekeeping: Ensure that the Lithographic department is maintained to a high level of cleanliness and organization. Conduct regular 6S audits.
- Communication: Provide daily feedback to the management team on completion of customer orders and internal product non-conformities. Review closed jobs and KPI’s on a weekly basis and provide monthly summaries for the PMM report.
- Raw Materials: Work with the Purchasing Manager to qualify alternate materials and provide feedback to suppliers for improvement.
- Quality: Implement and monitor test protocols to ensure customer specifications are met. Verify that associates are following the PPOC process and appropriate samples are collected as required.
- People: Build, develop and lead high performing teams to support the short-term and long-term growth of the plant. Activate and inspire a culture rich in employee engagement.
- Lean Manufacturing: Participate in continuous improvement/Kaizen teams. Develop and support a data-driven culture of continuous improvement. Work to develop process improvements to reduce waste, increase productivity, and improve quality.
- Values: Model the Corporate Values and Principles, including instilling a high performance, people-driven culture, providing high expectations and high support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Business, Leadership, or Continuous Improvement preferred
- Experience leading a Lithographic Press Room is required.
- Demonstrated experience executing continuous improvement projects is required.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology is required.
- Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper personal protection equipment compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Compliance with all workplace and safety standards required.
- Taking on new and additional tasks with comfort and ease and responding cooperatively to learning requirements inherent in such circumstances. Handling and managing new assignments readily.
