We are hiring a Printing Equipment Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to maintain and repair high-speed printing and packaging machinery in Lenexa, KS. If you have mechanical and electrical skills and enjoy working in a dynamic production environment, this opportunity is for you.

This role involves maintaining complex printing, finishing, packaging, and mail processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and specification-compliant operation. The technician will work primarily on Sheet Fed Offset Printing Machines and related production machinery, applying mechanical and electrical expertise to minimize downtime and support manufacturing goals.

• POSITION: Right to Hire
• SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm
• PAY RATE: $25/hr

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Disassemble machines, replace parts, adjust components, and restore equipment to operational standards.
• Interpret diagrams, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications to guide repairs.
• Clean and lubricate moving parts, order replacement components, and verify repair quality.
• Adapt tools and procedures to resolve unique mechanical or electrical issues and assist with complex problem-solving on the production floor.
• Work on high-speed commercial printing presses including Sheet Fed Offset Printing Machines.
• Maintain mechanical production machinery such as cutters, folders, inserters, bindery equipment, and other print-related machines.
• Diagnose and repair low voltage electrical and electronic systems including wiring, motors, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and support Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation controls, including input/output troubleshooting and electrical control installations.
• Perform tasks such as connecting laptops to printing machines and changing IP addresses.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of machine maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of complex equipment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools including Digital Multimeter (DMM), Clamp Meter, Continuity Tester, Non-contact Voltage Tester, and Logic Probe for PLC I/O checks.
• Proficient use of basic hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sheetfed Offset Printing Presses.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing, print, bindery, inserting, packaging, or fulfillment equipment.
