The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented strategy practitioner to join HP’s Print Strategy & Planning team, reporting to the Senior Director, Office Print Strategy, within HP’s Global Strategy organization. This team is highly regarded across HP as a trusted advisor to business leaders and a proven development ground for future executives. This role will help define that future. As a key member of the strategy team, you will shape the strategic direction of the Office Print business, helping ensure it remains competitive and positioned for long-term growth. You will drive strategic choices across product and portfolio strategy, go-to-market approaches, competitive positioning, growth initiatives, business development/partnerships and M&A. The role requires rigorous analysis, hypothesis-driven problem solving, and clear executive-level recommendations. Success will depend on close partnership with senior leaders across functions to align strategy, drive execution, and accelerate business transformation.



Responsibilities

  • Shape the strategic direction of the Office Print business through analysis of market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and industry disruptions.
  • Develop and recommend business-unit strategies, defining where to play, how to win, and the strategic choices required to drive sustainable growth over the next 1–5 years.
  • Identify and drive strategic initiatives that unlock near-, mid-, and long-term business and financial value, establishing clear priorities, execution roadmaps, milestones, and accountability to accelerate results.
  • Lead complex, high-impact strategic initiatives from problem definition through recommendation and implementation, ensuring measurable business outcomes.
  • Structure and execute rigorous, hypothesis-driven analyses, synthesizing insights into clear, data-backed recommendations for senior executives.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to business leaders on topics including growth strategy, portfolio management, competitive positioning, investment priorities, risk management, and new business opportunities.
  • Drive strategic choices across product and portfolio roadmaps, go-to-market models, partnerships, acquisitions, and adjacent growth opportunities.
  • Lead large, cross-functional teams across businesses, functions, and geographies to build alignment, influence decision-making, and ensure successful execution.
  • Partner effectively across HP’s global matrix organization to translate strategy into actionable plans and deliver results at scale.
  • Advance the strategic capabilities of the organization through thought leadership, best practices, and innovative approaches to strategy development and problem solving.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Degree concentration in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, business planning, or related strategic roles, with a demonstrated track record of driving business impact.
  • Prior experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to break down complex business challenges into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, independently framing problems, developing structured approaches, and driving initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives tailored to senior leadership audiences.
  • Broad business acumen with the ability to connect market, customer, financial, operational, and technology insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including executive presentations, stakeholder management, negotiation, and influence without authority.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects, balancing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong partnership and relationship-building skills, with credibility and judgment to serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders.
  • Intellectual curiosity and learning agility, with the ability to apply innovative analytical approaches and frameworks to solve evolving business challenges.
  • Deep experience leading sophisticated research and analytical efforts, leveraging data, market intelligence, and advanced analytical techniques to uncover insights and guide strategic choices.
  • Strong strategic judgment, including the ability to assess trade-offs, evaluate risks and opportunities, and anticipate the business implications of key decisions.

The base pay range for this role is USD $176,900 - $230,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
