Print Applications Manager
Shift: Monday – Friday, core business hours onsite
Salary: $55K - $60K
The Digital Print Applications Manager is responsible for leading the technical readiness, calibration, and color performance of our digital print operations. This role focuses heavily on developing print applications, managing advanced color workflows, onboarding new garments or materials, and ensuring consistent, high-quality production output.
Responsibilities
- Own the development, implementation, and maintenance of digital print application settings across the production floor
- Lead the onboarding, testing, and qualification of new garments, substrates, and specialized print applications
- Build, test, and optimize print recipes, technical production settings, and calibration profiles
- Manage digital color workflow strategies, linearization curves, ICC profiles, and color standards
- Oversee RIP workflow processes and optimize print outputs using platforms such as Print Factory or comparable systems
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for recurring print quality and color consistency issues
- Diagnose technical print issues to determine root causes, including substrate behavior, artwork settings, or equipment concerns
- Partner with maintenance teams when issues require mechanical intervention to minimize production disruption
- Coordinate daily department priorities and oversee the workflow and execution of strategic sample requests
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, IT, client success, and external vendor partners to define automation workflow rules
- Operate, program, and physically test production print equipment directly within the active manufacturing environment
Reporting Relationships
- Reports To: Production Leadership
- Direct Reports: None initially (Responsible for coordinating technical workflows and department task ownership)
About You
- Offer 3+ years of experience in digital printing, prepress, large format printing, screen printing, or related technical print environments
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with digital print technologies, preferably direct-to-garment (DTG) or direct-to-film (DTF) apparel decoration
- Maintain proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and advanced software skills within the Adobe Creative Suite
- Possess strong technical expertise in color management methodologies, print calibration, spectrophotometers, and output consistency
- Bring direct experience building linearization curves, specialized ICC profiles, and managing advanced RIP software platforms
- Exhibit comfort working hands-on behind a computer as well as physically operating, programming, and testing equipment on the production floor
- Show excellent communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills to interact with technical and non-technical teams
- Display the ability to prioritize competing technical demands and coordinate day-to-day sample workflows efficiently
