Principle Marketing Associate, Talent Partnerships

The Principle Associate, Talent Partnerships will design and lead Velocity Black’s end-to-end talent strategy, driving high-impact talent relationships that elevates our brand presence and drives growth. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Brand Marketing & Talent, you will own the talent lifecycle—from sourcing and contract negotiation to campaign execution and performance tracking. This role will span work with creators, KOL’s, and cultural figures and be responsible for integrating them into our larger brand marketing ecosystem, ensuring every partnership aligns with company objectives and delivers measurable business impact.

Primary Responsibilities

• Talent Strategy & Integration: Define and execute the talent partnership strategy, recommending innovative ways to leverage talent across broader brand marketing campaigns and experiences.
• Sourcing & Relationship Management: Source, vet, and build long-term relationships with talent, creators, and partner representatives who align with Velocity Black’s luxury ethos.
• Contracting & Negotiation:. Work alongside legal and our agency partners to oversee contract negotiation, drafting, and execution, including rights management, deliverable scoping, and budget oversight.
• Campaign Management & Execution: Lead activation planning and cross-functional execution for all talent-led initiatives, ensuring seamless delivery on contract scope and company KPI’s.
• Activation & Experiential Marketing: Partner with the events team to drive talent integration, amplification and campaigns into our events strategy that helps showcase Velocity Black’s unique value proposition across travel, dining, and experiences.
• Performance Measurement & KPIs: Establish performance benchmarks, set clear campaign targets, and track ROI across talent activations to measure brand reach and value.

This role is designated as a hybrid position. You are expected to adhere to Capital One's hybrid policy regarding required on-site presence at your designated office location.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
• At least 4 years of experience in brand strategy or influencer marketing experience with experience managing channels, agency or client side
• At least 4 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
• At least 4 years experience in managing creative agency processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in marketing or business
• 5+ years of experience in marketing for the travel industry or for a premium brand
• 5+ years of experience in talent or creator management and procurement
• 5+ years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
• 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, Marketing

New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Associate, Marketing

Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
