Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal OR Sr. Principal System Administrator to join the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Program to support the customer’s Early Use program objectives.

The Early Use program for DARC enables USSPACECOM and the USSF to work with mission data while also learning from the system operations to develop CONOPS and Training, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for the new radar capability. This is achieved by tasking DARC system components on a non-interference basis with ongoing development activities. It is the responsibility of Northrop Grumman personnel to configure and operate the DARC system components in line with these objectives. This role working alongside the Northrop Grumman early use operations lead will document, configure, and operate the DARC computer infrastructure systems commensurate with tasking from USSPACECOM. This position is located at Eglin AFB in Florida

As the DARC Early Use System Administrator you will get to:

  • Power up, configure, and shut down DARC computer infrastructure components in support of Early Use Operations.

  • Document and track Early Use SW and HW configurations.

  • Ensure Early Use Data is appropriately tagged, archived, and sanitized per documented procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software impacting Early Use Operations.

  • Support Early Use demonstrations and answer questions from witnessing customer representatives.

  • As time permits, support Systems Administration development functions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Principal Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of experience; 9 years of total experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree.

  • Sr. Principal Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of experience; 12 years of total experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree

  • Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application

  • Experience with configuring and trouble shooting network components and traffic issues.

  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 8/9 OS.

  • IAT Level II certification (ex. Security+ CE) or greater.

  • Experience with Ansible scripts.

  • Experience with RedHat Identity Manager (IDM).

  • Experience with RedHat Satellite Server configuration and usage.

  • Familiarity with HPC cluster management solutions, such as HPE CM.

  • Effective written and oral communication across all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a RADAR or Satellite operations environment

  • Experience with various MPI implementations, IntelMPI, OpenMPI, MPICH

  • Experience with InfiniBand networks and the InfiniBand protocol

  • Experience with Nvidia CUDA libraries and GPUs.

  • Experience with job schedulers, such as Slurm or PBS.

  • Experience with global and parallel files systems, such as GPFS.

  • Experience with Data Diode/CDS security solutions.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
