Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel program Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. This position is located: Roy, UT.
The Sentinel Command and Launch team oversees the ground design of the facilities and its hardware to support the future upgrade of the Minuteman III missiles as well as the unique flight test facilities. Our teams are hiring Electrical Engineers within areas of focus: Cable Harness design, Circuit Card design and electrical analysis.
Looking for experience in any of the following: Product life cycle, Teamcenter, Mentor Capital/Xpedition or similar, Line loss analysis, Derating analysis, bent pin analysis, signal integrity analysis, TEMPEST, EMI.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical systems design/analysis in accordance with scope of work.
Reviews engineering deliverables consisting of one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, data sheets, requirement specifications, hazardous area classification drawings, electrical analysis and electrical power studies.
Supports the development and/or delivery of any of the following: electrical facility designs Technical Data Packages, Product Definition Packages (PDP), Analysis Data Packages (ADP), interface models, and additional design artifacts.
Reviews the work of engineers and designers developing engineering and design documents as needed for the project.
Verifies complex calculations and applies standards correctly without supervision.
Ensures design/analysis quality by validating that processes and procedures are applied and integrating/interfacing across teams.
Responsible for briefing design and/or analysis artifacts to leadership, stakeholders and the customers
Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position may be filled at either a Principal level or Sr. Principal level.
Principal Electrical Engineer Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; 0 Years with PhD.
Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s Degree; 3 Years with PhD.
Required for both levels:
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program Access (SAP).
Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance with an investigation within the past 6 years.
Knowledgeable of Electrical Principles and/or Electrical Analysis
Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project and Engineering Scheduling tools or applications.
Experience with electrical/power systems, cable/harness, circuit card, controls systems and/or components design.
Experience reviewing engineering specifications, schematics and/or drawings with the ability to translate customer driven requirements into specifications.
Experience resolving issues and providing technical support
Capable of working with minimal direction and in team environments.
Experience with grounding cables/conductors design.
Electromechanical design, facility design experience.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Building Code (IBC) and Unified Facilities Criteria.
Experience with maintenance and reliability engineering
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly to both Government and corporate leadership.
Electrical design experience in CAD such as NX/Revit
Experience working with external customers to meet program expectations in a timely and efficient manner.
Proficiency with Mentor Graphics, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter.
Experience using the following tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalents
Knowledge of various data transmission formats (eg. Serial, TCP/IP, Fiber etc)
Experience with ETAP or SKM PTW32 for short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash studies.
Teamcenter/CPLM experience
Continuous Process Improvement experience
Experience with Agile
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
