
WSP Africa is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Thermal Power Plant Engineer who will function as a senior technical consultant for Thermal Power Plants with a specific focus on Nuclear Power Plants in Southern Africa and also able to support the international business as required.
Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA is required
The role will be based at our WSP Africa Johannesburg offices and will require foreign travel; specific travel to locations within Africa/USA/Canada and the UK.
Managing and performing high quality technical advisory works
Project Management and interfacing between engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil and control and instrumentation) and WSP offices in USA/Canada and the UK
Prepare functional designs, specifications and tender documents for Thermal Power Plants with a specific focus on Nuclear Power Plant projects according to internationally accepted standards.
Pursue Nuclear opportunities in Africa and work with our International Offices in the USA/Canada and the UK to secure opportunities
Build and grow a team of Nuclear experts in South Africa
Provide Project Engineering support for Nuclear projects in the licensing and development phases
Provide project engineering support during the execution phase of thermal generation projects including responding to technical queries, factory inspections and testing of materials and monitoring progress of construction on site
Health and Safety
Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you
Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm
ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer is required;
