We are seeking an experienced Principal Telecommunications Specialist for a contract engagement supporting major mining, energy, utilities and industrial projects. This role will provide specialist expertise in radio frequency (RF) communications, VMR systems and wireless connectivity solutions, supporting studies, assessments and project delivery across a range of critical infrastructure environments.

What You'll DoProvide subject matter expertise in RF communications, wireless networking and cellular technologies across a range of industrial and critical infrastructure projects.Support the delivery of telecommunications and connectivity studies, options assessments, feasibility studies and technical due diligence activities.Develop and assess communications architectures and technology strategies to support operational and business requirements.Provide specialist expertise in VHF, UHF and VMR (Voice Mobile Radio) systems, including coverage assessments and system design recommendations.Support the planning, assessment and integration of private LTE, private 5G and other wireless and cellular connectivity solutions.Evaluate existing communications infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimisation, modernisation and increased operational reliability.Prepare technical reports, design documentation and engineering deliverables to support project development and client decision-making.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients to develop practical, fit-for-purpose communications solutions.Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing technical leadership during studies, assessments and early project phases.What You'll HaveSignificant experience in RF communications, telecommunications engineering or wireless technology environments.Strong technical knowledge of VMR systems, including VHF, UHF and digital radio technologies.Experience with wireless and cellular communication solutions, including LTE, private LTE, 5G and industrial wireless networks.Demonstrated capability supporting studies, concept development, feasibility assessments and technical evaluations.Experience working within mining, energy, utilities, transport or industrial sectors.Knowledge of RF propagation, coverage analysis and communications system performance assessment.Excellent stakeholder engagement, consulting and technical report-writing skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.Why you should applyFlexible and hybrid work arrangements.The opportunity to contribute to one of Australia's largest copper growth programs.Competitive contract rates.Access to a world-class network of technical experts.A collaborative environment that values technical excellence and knowledge sharing.The opportunity to support high-profile studies and project development activities across multiple industries.Moving forward together
