As a Principal, Technology Strategy, you will:
Serve as Chief of Staff to a Technology Senior Vice President during a transformational time for Target and the Tech team. You will act as a strategic advisor and execution partner, ensuring the SVP’s portfolio is aligned to enterprise priorities and positioned to deliver measurable impact. You will shape annual and multi-year strategy, clarify trade-offs, sequencing, and resource allocation decisions, and represent portfolio priorities in key enterprise forums.
You will translate strategy into clear priorities, milestones, and measurable outcomes,establishingand managing a strong operating rhythm across the portfolio, including strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, and leadership cadences. You will ensure transparency on performance, risks, and dependencies, proactively address challenges through data-informed, cross-functional decision-making, and build mechanisms that translate intent into action while sharpening focus on the highest-impact work.
Operating within a centralized Technology Chief of Staff model and reporting to theSeniorDirector, Technology Strategy& Operations, you will strengthen consistency and execution discipline across portfolios. You will surface enterprise interdependencies early, balance portfolio advocacy with enterprise-first thinking, and actively contribute to and strengthen the Technology Chief of Staff community by building shared standards, trust, and collective accountability across portfolios.
You will build deep domainexpertisewithin your assigned Technology portfolio, understanding key risks, performance metrics, investment drivers, and capability gaps. You will engage credibly with senior technical leaders and translate complex technical topics into clear, enterprise-ready narratives that inform decision-making and drive alignment.

About You
College degree or equivalent experience, combined with 8+ years of experience in Strategy, Technology, Operations, Consulting, or related fields.
Proven ability tooperateat senior levels within a complex, matrixed organization.
Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline and bias for action.
Exceptional communication skills, including executive storytelling and structured problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
Strong judgment,highaccountability, andcomfort withambiguity.
Skilled at driving clarity, prioritization, and thoughtful trade-offs.
Demonstrated experience contributing to or building a community of practice, enabling shared standards, knowledge exchange, and collective problem-solving across peers.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
