Principal Technical Service Account Manager

About this role:

The Principal Technical Service Account Manager leverages in-depth technical specialties to provide customized solutions, directly addressing client requirements. This role balances technical problem-solving with strategic account management, ensuring client satisfaction through tailored solutions and proactive account oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop close working relationships with the technical community of new or under‑developed customers; identify, penetrate, and build relationships with key decision makers leading to new opportunities.

  • Lead customer projects, providing technical expertise and support to develop high‑quality, cost‑effective, and fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

  • Partner with sales teams to identify and shape new opportunities, building a strong project pipeline.

  • Manage pipeline with the Commercial team, ensuring accurate delivery forecasts, evaluating and mitigating risks, and ongoing adjustments to volume and revenue projections

  • Understanding customer needs, culture, capabilities, structures, and processes to support solution design, pipeline development, and technical strategies, anticipates customer and market needs

  • Provide customers with technical support related to processing issues or challenges.

  • Follow and share market intelligence and industry trends to contribute to solution development.

  • Promote Tate & Lyle’s technical leadership by presenting new product ideas and technologies to existing and potential customers, including at technical symposiums.

  • Support customers in using Tate & Lyle ingredients by leveraging knowledge of the ingredient portfolio and applications

  • Create recognition for Tate & Lyle’s ingredients and technologies by developing and fostering industry relationships (including trainings and Workshops)

  • Work cross‑functionally within Tate & Lyle to ensure customer performance goals are met.

  • Be the technical reference for colleagues by driving technical discussions, sharing expertise across the technical community and team, and building connections with the global community to promote knowledge exchange.

  • Drive cross‑functional teams accountable for cost discipline, realistic timelines, and timely, high‑quality responses to customer needs.

  • Act as a proactive business contributor by identifying and bringing forward relevant insights, supporting the development (VOCs, NPDs, Innodays), and leading the creation and refinement of workflow.
