Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Maldon District Council to recruit a Principle Technical Lead on a three-month temporary basis. Please note that this role requires 2 days a week site attendance. Maldon District Council is looking for an experienced and proactive Principle Technical Lead to play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Development Management services. This is an important leadership role within the Place, Planning & Growth service, supporting the day‑to‑day management of Technical Support and Validation functions. The role focuses on ensuring compliant, efficient and customer‑focused processes, strong team performance, and continuous service improvement. The role: Reporting into the Technical Support Team Leader, you will: This role suits someone who combines strong technical understanding with people leadership, process improvement and a genuine commitment to public service. The experience you will bring: The ideal candidate will need to attend the office at least twice a week, ideally Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday.
