Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer full Thread Traceability and Tool Integration to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector supporting the development of the Leidos Common Baseline. Common Baseline is a mission-critical, future-ready automation solution built on a hybrid cloud data mesh architecture. As a member of a large-scale, Scaled Agile software development organization, you will play a central role in shaping next-generation air traffic automation capabilities by bridging mission needs, systems engineering rigor, and Agile software delivery.
This position will lead the integration of DOORS/DOORS Next, Jama Connect, Cameo, Jira, GitLab, TestSTAT, and WebSTAT within a complex, software-intensive systems engineering environment.
The primary focus of this position is to design, implement, and maintain an integrated engineering environment that enables end-to-end traceability from system requirements through architecture, software development, verification activities, and test results.
A key responsibility will be the integration of Jama Connect and DOORS/DOORS Next, including defining data mappings, integration rules, interfaces, and traceability relationships between the platforms. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Jama and DOORS and a strong understanding of requirements data models, APIs, data exchange, synchronization, and cross-tool traceability.
This individual will work across systems engineering, architecture, software development, integration, and test organizations to establish and document how engineering information flows across the toolchain. The engineer will identify and resolve traceability gaps, synchronization issues, and data-quality concerns while ensuring requirements and verification evidence remain connected throughout the system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the integration of DOORS/DOORS Next, Jama, Cameo, Jira, GitLab, TestSTAT, and WebSTAT to establish full-thread traceability.
Design and implement the integration between Jama Connect and DOORS/DOORS Next.
Establish end-to-end traceability from system requirements through architecture, development, verification, and test results.
Define and document data mappings, relationships, interfaces, integration rules, and authoritative data sources across the engineering toolchain.
Analyze Jama and DOORS data structures and determine how requirements, attributes, relationships, and verification information should be exchanged between platforms.
Establish and maintain cross-tool traceability between requirements in Jama/DOORS and engineering artifacts in Cameo, Jira, GitLab, TestSTAT, and WebSTAT.
Evaluate and implement integration mechanisms such as REST APIs, OSLC, ReqIF, scripting, middleware, or other supported interfaces.
Define approaches for synchronization, reconciliation, conflict resolution, and error handling.
Identify and resolve broken traceability, data inconsistencies, synchronization failures, and coverage gaps.
Ensure traceability is preserved as requirements and engineering artifacts are created, modified, baselined, implemented, tested, and verified.
Support automation of traceability validation, synchronization, reporting, and data-quality checks.
Perform change-impact and traceability analysis across the integrated engineering environment.
Develop traceability metrics and reports demonstrating requirements, implementation, and verification coverage.
Support technical reviews by providing objective evidence of requirements-to-verification traceability.
Document integration architecture, data flows, interfaces, and traceability mechanisms.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert for engineering tool integration and full-thread traceability.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
12+ years of related systems engineering experience, or 10+ years with a Master's degree.
Strong hands-on experience with Jama Connect and DOORS/DOORS Next.
Experience integrating requirements-management or engineering lifecycle tools with preference for direct Jama and DOORS integration experience.
Experience establishing end-to-end traceability across requirements, architecture, software development, verification, and test.
Experience with requirements data models, attributes, relationships, identifiers, and cross-tool data mapping.
Experience with integration technologies such as REST APIs, OSLC, ReqIF, scripting, middleware, or comparable mechanisms.
Experience defining synchronization, data reconciliation, authoritative-source, and conflict-resolution approaches.
Experience troubleshooting integration, synchronization, traceability, and data-quality issues.
Experience performing traceability gap, coverage, and change-impact analysis.
Ability to work across systems engineering, architecture, software development, integration, test, and tool-administration teams.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
US citizenship is required
Successful completion of any required government background investigations
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
Direct experience integrating Jama Connect with DOORS/DOORS Next.
Experience integrating Cameo, Jira, GitLab, and test/verification tools into an engineering toolchain.
Experience implementing full-thread or digital-thread traceability across engineering lifecycle tools.
Experience with Jama and DOORS APIs and integration capabilities.
Experience with MBSE/Cameo and requirements-to-model traceability.
Experience developing scripts or automation for data synchronization, traceability validation, and reporting.
Experience supporting safety-critical, mission-critical, or regulated systems requiring auditable requirements-to-verification traceability.
Air Traffic domain knowledge or experience supporting Air Traffic or transportation-related systems.
