York International Corporation seeks Principal Systems Controls Engineer at its facility located at 5000 Renaissance Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349.
Perform duties as the team’s Data Center Controls Technical Lead. Work with other engineers to develop, test, and support controls for Chiller Solutions’ products. Act as an analytical thinker and be disciplined in applying robust design methodologies and engineering principles such as modelling, simulation, statistics, and data acquisition to develop and realize equipment control solutions. Work independently and be able to interface directly with electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and research engineers to develop system-wide solutions. Work with peers and specialists across disciplines to meet shared product milestones. Lead complex projects, which involve implementation, and review work products. Development of multiple chiller control products simultaneously with various release dates and support as required. Coordinate additional control products and mentor other controls engineers to develop skills in implementing controls. They will perform in design, development, and test. They will work on control theory, thermodynamics and heat transfer, software design and development and embedded systems is required. They will work on Matlab and/or Simulink for chillers. They will conduct simulations and block testing, analyze reports and test results, and provide verified control application modules for integration and system testing within control platforms. Will troubleshot issues related to control systems. Will engage in active development, testing, design, and review, Software Change Requests (SCR) and Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) and create control applications and code generation. They will also collaborate with chiller engineers to gather and document requirements. They will a utilize Model-Based Design to develop components, with a main focus on creating and utilizing reusable components in MATLAB/Simulink. They will also serve as the primary technical support contact for products and define product-specific release roadmaps. Lastly, they will troubleshoot any issues related to control systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation in HVAC equipment design, development, and controls. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) MATLAB/ Simulink; (2) Model Based Design with Code Generation; (3) Model Based Design Automated Test; (4) Model Based Design Thermal Modeling; (5) Working with and producing control and system requirements; and (6) International Engineering experience in Product Definition and Requirements
