Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our Derivative Systems team. The incumbent will be responsible for application development, testing, project implementation and production support of mission-critical Derivative Systems.

Job Duties:

  • Perform system development and project implementation, including requirement analysis, effort estimation, development, testing and documentation.
  • Design, develop and enhance applications using modern technologies.
  • Perform system and application testing, defect analysis and verification of fixes.
  • Investigate and resolve application defects, production incidents and technical issues.
  • Perform quality reviews of software design and code changes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on development, testing, implementation and production issues.
  • Participate in rostered production support, including night shifts and public holidays, as part of the overall development and support responsibilities.
  • Undertake other assignments and projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years of application development experience in large-scale systems, preferably in financial services industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Linux and Java, with knowledge of Python, Perl, SQL and Shell scripting being advantageous.
  • Experience in web applications, databases, FIX protocol and REST APIs.
  • Experience in microservices, containerized architecture and cloud technologies would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate application and production issues independently.
  • Experience in derivatives markets and risk management models such as SPAN and/or VaR would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of SDLC methodology and documentation.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
