Basic Function of the Job:
The primary quality contact for assigned commodity material The role is expected to manage, monitor and drive contract manufacturer (CM)’s improvement for better quality performance. Also, this role is expected to take an important role in aligning between product requirements and CM’s capability, and setting up data collecting, SPC monitoring at CM’s factory based on product requirement, leading RMA analysis and troubleshooting. Working with strong quality awareness, and standardized, systematic thinking.
We expect the candidate to bring rich background of transceiver and its sub-assembly, COB/COC/PCBA assembly and testing. The candidate is willing to work flexible hours to accommodate worldwide facilities and CMs in different time zones.
Job Requirements
Education:
BS degree in engineering of corresponding optics or physics. Advanced educational qualifications will be a plus. (must)
Experience:
5+ years of working experience related to quality management, SDE, CQE, QE or PE in high-speed transceiver industry. (must)
Working experience related to high-speed transceiver testing or assembly is a plus
Working experience related to components inside of transceiver is a plus, such as COB, COC, PCBA
Job Skills and Requirements:
Good understanding and knowledge of Optical transceiver manufacturing process, testing and spec and application requirement.
Experience in supplier/CM system audit will be a plus.
Familiar with quality systems, ISO9001,
Familiar with industry standard such as GR468, MIL-883…
Proficient in suitable quality tools such as 8D, MSA, SPC, DOE, FEMA etc
Capable of doing troubleshooting against transceiver failure
Ability to use data analysis tools such as JMP or equivalent…
Ability to work highly independently with minimal guidance from supervisors on specific tasks.
Excels in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment.
Quick response and stable performance under pressure.
Ability 30%-time travel to CMs, COHERENT facilities, and other worldwide locations when necessary
Able to support a flexible work schedule due to collaboration with multiple worldwide facilities
Fluent in spoken and written English

Specific Duty
Review CM’s quality performance in quarterly base, make score and feedback to CM for continuous improvement.
Participate in CM Business Review and make quality rating to the overall SBR scoring.
Regularly audit CM in the place to ensure their quality system meets requirements, and drive actions for continuous improvement.
Deep dive to CM process audit, proactively mitigate the risk for better product quality.
Lead RMA analysis and drive CM to identify the root cause and implement correction and prevention.
Seek for quick feedback and advice from CM for in-time affected material containment.
Cross check with all peer CMs for critical issues
Collaborate closely with Procurement and R&D in selection of new CMs to support cost reduction, continuous supply and new design project.
Lead the CM qualification to ensure they meet our basic quality system requirement.
Develop CM capability and bridge the technical conversation between CM and R&D to align the product roadmap.
Ensure CM sign back the SPCN agreement.
Review CM part/product/process change request and coordinate with internal functions for risk assessment.
Work with Procurement and R&D to find alternative solutions in case of any material EOL.
Align with internal functions for the qualification plan of new part.
Guide and review CM first article report.
Add new authorized part number on Agile
