UGL Engineering team designs, constructs, commissions and maintains critical infrastructure across the road, rail, building, power, water and renewable sectors. About the role

The Principal Signalling Engineer will be the subject matter expert on rail signalling and provide technical leadership to thesignalling team. The role is accountable for providing technicalinputsintobidsubmissionsandtenderstrategyaswellasresponsibleforprovidingtechnicalguidance, input and managementduring design and delivery of signalling projects.

  • Reviewandagreewithdesigntimeframes shownondesign program

  • Attenddesign reviews

  • Contributetechnicaladvicetotheteamonmattersrelatingtotheengineering solution

  • Participateinleadershiprolesfor tenderpreparation

  • Developathoroughunderstandingoftheoverallprojectandeffectivelycommunicatesuchunderstandingto the applicable Project Team members under supervision

  • Reviewandoverseedesignoutputstoensurecompliancewiththeproject requirements

  • Ensurethatallnecessaryreviews,verificationsandvalidations areplannedandconducted,andtheoutcomes of these are incorporated into the design

  • Createateamculturethatfostershighperformanceandpersonalimprovement mindset

  • Actasatechnicalreference authority.

About You

  • Experienced Signalling Design Engineer at Senior – Principal level

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and able to obtain Acceptance by Engineers Australia or equivalent.

  • RPEQ in a relevant discipline, or the capability to achieve RPEQ

  • Level 3 Signalling Design Competency from QR or the ability to achieve same immediately.

  • Ability to work with and develop productive relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.

  • Demonstratedability toworkindependently toorganiseandprioritisedemands,handlemultiplecomplextasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
