The Details:

• Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
• $123,300 - $130,980 pa + 12% super (level 7)
• 72.5 hour fortnight
• Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
• Location: Narangba

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Resource Recovery Analyst, and help shape a more sustainable future for our community.

In this influential leadership role, you will drive data led decision making, strategic planning and continuous improvement across Council’s Waste & Resource Recovery department. Combining technical expertise with people leadership, you will lead a team of five direct reports while delivering insights, projects and initiatives that improve resource recovery outcomes, support regulatory compliance and help advance Council’s circular economy goals.

Additionally, you will:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team, fostering a high performing culture focused on collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Deliver advanced data analysis, forecasting, modelling and performance reporting to inform strategic planning, operational improvements and executive decision making.
• Lead the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance compliance, service performance, operational efficiency and resource recovery outcomes.
• Provide specialist technical advice and oversight across waste management planning, waste levy reporting, business cases, grant applications and emerging industry trends.
• Manage and deliver complex projects, procurement activities and technical investigations that support sustainable waste management and landfill diversion objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing trusted advice that supports effective service delivery and organisational outcomes.

About you

You are a strategic and analytical leader with experience using data, financial insights and industry knowledge to influence decision making and drive operational improvement. With a strong understanding of waste and resource recovery operations, regulatory requirements and project delivery, you can confidently translate complex information into meaningful insights and recommendations for a diverse range of stakeholders.

A proven people leader, you are passionate about building high performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. You enjoy coaching and developing others, leading through influence, and balancing strategic priorities with operational outcomes. Comfortable working with complex datasets and challenging business problems, you are driven to identify opportunities, deliver innovative solutions and achieve sustainable service delivery outcomes.

Additionally, you will hold:

• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Waste Management, Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or a related discipline
• Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• C Class Driver's Licence
