Functions in a technical leadership/consulting role. Typically responsible for refurbishment, modification, repair, fabrication, test, security, safety, and technical direction to various teams in order to assure turbomachinery packages are updated to customer needs and specifications.
This is a 2nd shift position
What you will do:
Applies extensive technical, mechanical, electronic skills required to perform all aspects of package refurbishment on all product lines. Reviews and analyzes current refurbishment processes and identifies improvements which result in increased productivity and/or eliminate non-value added steps. Researches and purchases new equipment, learns how to use new equipment and assists others in acquiring new skills. Supplies solutions to the most complex and technically challenging aspects of refurbishment and support activities. Works with minimal supervision, consulting management and supporting engineering department needs, as required. Functions as an independent resource in a highly specialized refurbishment facility. Acquires new equipment, learns it and trains others on same.
Assignments can include, but are not limited to any combination of the following:
1.Develops prototype, first article equipment and procedures. Determines required tooling and interfaces with engineering for prototype drawings.
2.Responsible for the defnition and the development of simulator and/or tooling, as required by established test procedures.
3.Works with engineers to document hardware and procedures.
4.All other activities related to the delivery of turbomachinery refurbishment packages to high quality standards and tight schedules, including small component assignments; weld preparations, etc.
What you will Have:
Must demonstrate capability to resolve complex problems, utilizing sound judgement, drawing on in-depth technical knowledge and experience.
Requires advanced training and experience in leading a technical team in the execution of turbomachinery package refurbishment.
Must have related formal technical training or the equivalent in work experience plus at least five years of hands-on turbomachinery experience.
Knowledge of all safety and environment restrictions affecting the facility.
Pay Range:
$65,454.00 - $98,182.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
