Located about 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jansen is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable potash mines in the world. At approximately US$15.3 billion investment, it marks the biggest private investment in Saskatchewan’s history, and a bold step forward for BHP in Canada.
Beyond its scale, Jansen will create lasting value for people and communities. The project is expected to support approximately 5,500 jobs during construction and around 900 permanent roles once production begins.

As Principal Risk Business Partner, you will work closely with Asset and Project, GRIA, relevant functions and GBS to ensure alignment with the BHP Risk Management Global Standard. You will support both the transition from Project to Operating Asset and development of Jansen Stage 2 through uplifting BHP Risk Management knowledge and capability, elevating the quality and discipline of risk activities and converting portfolio risk themes into actionable strategies that enhance safety, performance, and long-term resilience. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to understand the risk-related needs and priorities of the Asset and tailor your approach and capabilities to meet those needs at the right time
In this role, you will:
You are an experienced risk leader who thrives in complex environments and can influence decisions through trusted advice, sound judgement, and strong business partnerships.
You will bring:
Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. This position will require regular travel to the Jansen Mine Site.
