Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across supply chain, manufacturing, and program management operations. In this role, you will develop and improve quality systems, process controls, and risk management strategies to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and implement corrective actions to enhance product and process performance.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain quality evaluation systems supporting Supply Chain, Program Management, and Manufacturing operations.

  • Evaluate and approve process deviations, engineering changes, testing activities, and non-conforming material dispositions through MRB processes.

  • Ensure compliance of Supply Chain and Value Stream projects, procedures, and process control documentation with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

  • Identify and mitigate product and process risks using PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and other quality tools.

  • Lead escape management investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support change management, Gate Reviews, PPAP submissions, design improvements, and manufacturing readiness activities.

  • Develop inspection plans, conduct Gage R&R studies, and utilize measurement systems to ensure product conformity.

  • Support NOPQE activities, quality audits, and analysis of quality metrics to drive continuous improvement and risk reduction.

  • Provide technical leadership while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance quality performance across the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, or a related discipline within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, PPAP, MRB processes, Gage R&R, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and statistical quality tools.

  • Experience with supplier quality management, SAP or quality management software systems, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
