CboeEurope is seeking aPrincipalPython Software Engineer. As part of a small, talented development team, you will help build and expand thedata pipeline and event streamingfunctionality of the largest equities exchange in Europe, as well as ourtrade reporting facilityand other platformsWe are firm believers in the value of testable, maintainable code, pairprogrammingand software craftsmanship; as we expand and grow our product suite, we need an experienced engineer with strong leadership skillsto help us grow.

In this roleyou’llbe responsible for

• Workingclosely with our business development and sales teams to develop innovative new products and features for our exchanges.

• Designingand buildinghighly reliable, highly testable Python systems to supportCboeEurope’stradingoperations.

• Leadingcomplex projects including:

• Meet regularly with team members and management to discuss project progress and operational correctness/efficiency.

• Managetheinvolvement of developers acrossmultipleCboesystems and/or other developers both inEuropeand the United States.

• Participate in various R&D projects toidentifyand implement promisingnew technologies

• Providingmentoring for other developers (worldwide whennecessary).

• Leadingothers indebugging ofcomplicated engineering and operational problems.

• Providingoperational support forCboeEurope’strading systemsbyparticipatingin a production supportrota, responding to incidents in line withCboe’sIncident Management and Response processes, and contributing topost-mortem analysesand follow-up actions.

Requirements

• ExpertPython knowledge

• A commitment to writing testable, maintainable code.

• Proficiencywith advanced SQL techniques.

• DeepLinux knowledge

• Solidknowledge of algorithms and data structures.

• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

• Highly preferred: Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies

• Preferred: Familiarity with PostgreSQLand Snowflake

• Preferred: Familiarity withWeb Frameworks such as Django,FlaskorFastAPI

• Preferred: Familiarity withevent streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka

• Preferred:Familiarity withdata pipeline platforms such as Apache Airflow

• Preferred: Familiarity withJava

• Preferred: Experience in one or more relevant financial areas (market data, order management, algorithmic trading, financial systems integration, compliance, etc.)
