Infrastructure Services Group (ISG) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.​

Our Branch

Project Management Branch (PMB) delivers project management, assurance and commercial services for service owners across Council. We work closely with asset owners to turn approved investments into delivered infrastructure and services, while improving how projects are planned, governed and tracked across the full lifecycle.

Story Bridge Renewal Program

Brisbane City Council is extending the life of the Story Bridge for another 100 years. This incredible role will join the Story Bridge Renewal Program, a dedicated team that is leading the restoration of Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge.

The Role

Provide delivery leadership for Package 1 and 2 of the Story Bridge Renewal Program (SBRP), integrating functional workstream outputs, consultants and contractors to achieve approved scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and stakeholder outcomes. You will achieve this by leading multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors and service providers to deliver package objectives and ensure effective integration of planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning and handover activities. Success in this role will require the ability to operate effectively within a complex and dynamic major infrastructure program, navigating evolving priorities, emerging risks, multiple stakeholder interfaces and an evolving organisational environment while maintaining focus on successful delivery outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

• demonstrated experience leading the planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects or programs to achieve scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety and stakeholder outcome
• demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and service providers to deliver major project outcomes.
• demonstrated experience managing procurement, contract administration and contractor performance for complex infrastructure projects.
• demonstrated experience managing project budgets, delivery programs, risks and performance reporting to achieve project objectives.
• demonstrated ability to integrate technical, commercial, approvals, governance and stakeholder inputs to successfully deliver complex project outcomes.
• demonstrated professional leadership and experience building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence positive outcomes in complex and stakeholder-sensitive environments.
• demonstrated high level communication, including high level written and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

A Bachelor’s degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline is a mandatory requirement for this role.

A valid Criminal History Check is a mandatory requirement for this role.
