Nature and Scope:

The Project Engineer is responsible for managing all engineering aspects for the Construction Service scope included in new turbomachinery projects for oil & gas applications.

The Project Engineer develops engineering solutions for Balance of Plant items in compliance with project specific requirements and high-quality standards.

He/She coordinates engineering and technical execution in close coordination with project managers, customers and suppliers throughout engineering, manufacturing, testing, site integration and commissioning.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of advanced principles and concepts relating to gas turbines and their ancillary systems. Ability to understand their applications and apply this knowledge and to perform assignments relative to the execution of major turbomachinery projects with construction service scope. Mastering his/her field of expertise with a broad knowledge of other engineering disciplines to develop comprehensive solutions to complex projects.


Problem Assignments:
Develops engineering solutions to complex projects. Applies advanced knowledge and experience to encompass all technical aspects of project specifications and certification requirements. Leads effectively complex engineering reviews and applies results to deliver quality products.


Freedom to Act:
Requires little supervision while executing complex tasks. Leverages peers as needed. Directs engineering activities during the entire project lifecycle: business development and business management phases till handover to customer.


Project Responsibility:
Would typically lead engineering activities for medium-size projects from early engineering to design freeze then manufacturing, testing and installation with focus on timely and quality execution. Is responsible for soundness of technical solutions and risk assessment and mitigation.

With focus on Balance of Plant items included in the scope of new equipment Oil and Gas projects, those activities include review and clarifications of project specifications with customers, preparation of RFQs for BOP sourcing, selection of suppliers for BOP and management of engineering activities performed by suppliers and contractors for manufacturing, delivery and site integration.


Liaison:
Represents the organization and the project team as lead technical contact person on assigned projects. Frequent interfaces with customers, suppliers and other internal support organizations (e.g. SPE, Supply Chain).


Business Contribution:
Major contributor to the successful execution of Oil&Gas new equipment projects and Construction service business. Project engineering leadership results in successful business management and effective uses of resources and therefore contributes to timely execution, quality of end products, project profit and customer satisfaction.


Position Qualification and Education:
The position requires significant experience in turbo machinery and complex technical projects. Proficiency in engineering, as well as excellent administrative and written/verbal communication skills are extremely important. Good interpersonal and communications skills are required as the Project Engineer interacts externally with customers, suppliers and internally with the core project team and supporting organizations (Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, etc). A previous experience in a similar field of engineering is a strong desire. A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or the equivalent practical experience in a technical background is required.

Language skills to include English. Another European language, preferably French, German, Italian, would be a plus.

The position requires frequent travel to customer’ sites and suppliers’ facilities throughout Europe and the EAME region. Flexibility to travel is required.

Base Minimum Pay:

Kč1,301,484.00

Please note that salary is only one component of the total compensation and benefit package available at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
