Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal RMS Engineer to join the Mechanical team in supporting the development of innovative aviation, Interiors, Landing & Cargo Systems for the world’s leading commercial aircraft companies.

Job Responsibilities

Perform an Reliability & safety assessment process in accordance with ARP4761/ Mil-STD882, including but not limited to, Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSAs), System Safety Assessments (SSAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs), Common Mode Analyses (CMAs), Reliability analysis, Which includes ( FMEA & Reliability Prediction)
Providing RAMS analysis solutions in support of programs and technologies
Working closely with in-house as well as US counter parts engineering teams (Electronics design, performance ) to deliver detailed RAMS analysis
Strong Mechanical drawing understanding, and well aware about how to work with CATIA/UG
Perform reliability, maintainability, and safety analyses in accordance with customer specifications,
Performing reliability prediction analyses including but not limited to component stress analysis, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal.(MTBUR) on existing/developing electronic and mechanical products. These analyses are performed at the system/functional block as well as component level.
Performing aircraft related reliability prediction analyses including dispatch and mission reliability predictions.
Performing Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) & Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
Performing System Safety Analyses (SSA) including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA) & Common cause Analyses.
Performing Single Event Effect (SEE)
Performing Fault tolerance Analyses for electronics circuit with hand as well as on software like as LT SPICE
Performing Electronics failure investigation & find root cause also suggest solutions.
Conducting data and trending analyses
Experience in VBA macro writing will be add on advantage
Standard awareness
MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-338, MIL-STD-882E, SAE ARP 4761/4754, Also FAA/JAA and AC/AMJ25.1309 requirements.
Should able to understand Stress analysis.
Support systems, hardware, and software engineering teams in defining system safety requirements during development activity
Also serve as a systems safety architect and customer interface to capture, analyze, decompose, translate and create requirements for large complex systems.
Mentors teams on the utilization of internal processes, methods, and tools for systems development and documentation efforts. Drives new approaches, tools, and techniques based on needs identified in metric and defect trends in the enterprise.
Drives Discipline strategies that align with higher level business objectives
Helps steer the customer on how they can achieve their objectives
Lead technical proposal preparations and serve as the subject matter expert in non-advocate and customer systems reviews for large complex systems.
Recognized technical expert in avionics safety

Basic Qualifications

MEng / MSc or BE in an Mechanical Engg or similar engineering discipline and above 12 years of relevant experience
Significant knowledge of ARP4761/ ARP4754
Demonstrated expertise with Windchill Quality System & CAFTA
Demonstrated expertise in aircraft or embedded systems
Good knowledge in reliability engineering theory
Effective oral/written communication skills (including technical writing)
Effective interpersonal and team skills
Demonstrated expertise on how to prepare and present technical information to peers, to all levels of internal management, and to external customers
Demonstrated expertise on how to coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
Engaging in effective time management, working with a great deal of independence
Experience with JAMA requirements management software and Confluence tool.
