The pay range is $149,000.00 - $268,000.00

As aPrincipalProduct Manager focused onour modernData Platform,you will beresponsiblefor setting and evolving the enterprise vision, strategy, and multi-year direction for the modern data ecosystem, translating enterpriseand techpriorities into an integrateddataplatform strategy and investment roadmap.This includesensuring the platform provides the trusted, scalable, and governed foundationrequiredfor the enterprise’s AI and agenticstrategies

You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, framing platform opportunities, investment choices, enterprise dependencies, and key trade-offs to enable informed decision-making and orchestrate large-scale initiatives spanningnumerousupstream and downstreamteams.

You will partner with capability Product Managers to shape an integrated platform portfolio, resolve cross-product priorities and trade-offs, and ensure individual strategies and roadmaps collectively advance quarterly, annual, and multi-year platform outcomes.

As you drive enterprise platform outcomes, you will:

  • Own the holistic modern data platform strategy and multi-year direction, translating enterprise priorities into an integrated investment roadmap and securing alignment acrosssenior leaders, platform teams, and key stakeholders.

  • Represent the platform strategy with senior executives and enterprise stakeholders, clearly communicating progress, strategic choices, risks, dependencies, investment needs, and expected business outcomes through written narratives and executive forums.

  • Define andmaintainplatform-level measures of success, connecting platform investments to adoption, reliability, developer and user experience, cost efficiency, speed to insight, data trust, and enterprise business value.

  • Lead continuous discovery across platform consumers, business stakeholders, engineering partners, and the external market toidentifyenterprise needs,validatestrategic assumptions, and shape platform outcomes and investment priorities.

  • Orchestrate cross-functional strategy and roadmap alignment across platform teams and critical enterprise partners, including infrastructure, security, architecture, governance, and AI, resolving competing priorities and complex dependencies whenneeded.

  • Establish trusted strategic partnerships with leaders across data product management, data governance, data engineering, data science, analytics, architecture, and AI to shape shared priorities and drive enterprise-wide outcomes.

  • Mentor and coach Product Managers across the platform, raising the quality of product strategy, discovery, prioritization, outcome definition, and executive communication while helping individuals maximize their impact.

  • Maintain an informed perspective on the evolving data, analytics, AI, and agentic technology landscape;engage internal and external experts; and translate relevant developments into strategic recommendations, investment decisions, and adjustments to the platform strategy.

Required qualifications

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of product management experience, or equivalentstrategicleadershipexperience in platform engineering, infrastructure, site reliability engineering, or data platforms

  • Demonstrated experience advising and influencing SeniorDirector, VP, or comparable executive-level stakeholders on strategy, investments, priorities, and trade-offs.

  • Proven experience shaping enterprise technology strategy or leading transformation across multiple products, capabilities, or teams within a complex enterprise environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and align diverse stakeholders

  • Proventrack recordof building strong relationships withplatform consumers, engineering teams, andsenior leaders

  • Experience developing enterprise platform strategies that balance user needs, technical sustainability, security, governance, cost, and business value.

  • Experience evaluating build, buy, partner, and modernization decisions for enterprise data or technology platforms.

  • Experience defining and translating platform capabilities into enterprise outcomes andimpactmeasures, including platform adoption, value, reliability, cost-efficiency, and developer-experience.

  • Working knowledge of data platforms, including tools for data engineering, data governance,analyticsand AI tools.

  • Understanding of cloud-native data platforms (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks),distributed data systems, analytics best practices, data engineering best practices, and data management/governance best practices

  • Familiarity with cost management, capacity planning, and operational excellence practices in large-scale data environments

  • Experience ordemonstratedaptitude with AI and agentic systems, especially as it applies to data,analysisand insights

  • Strong ability towork in an agile,collaborativeand matrixed environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
