Supermicro Computer is looking for experienced Sr. Product Manager in the Rack solutions team to promote, drive development and delivery of our next-generation Rack solution products. The individual must have deep understanding of product development and rackmount related technical solutions, with strong background in mechanical, thermal, and/or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate would need to have the ability to identify customers’ needs, promote in-house solutions and build solid relationship with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute effective strategies for product deployment based on a thorough understanding of technical requirements and customer needs in the data center space.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business partners and technical teams, to identify and resolve product-related challenges and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
• Work closely with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software) to define product specifications and ensure the technical feasibility of the designs.
• Leverage your mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge to understand and optimize Enterprise/HPC/GPU server solutions, focusing on efficiency, performance, and integration in Rackmount design.
• Engage in ongoing communication with customers to answer technical questions and address concerns, ensuring a responsive and supportive customer experience.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to create, review, and approve the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure alignment with product requirements and cost targets.
• Create comprehensive positioning statements, marketing collateral, and sales training materials that clearly articulate product specifications and value propositions.
• Create and manage detailed technical and procedural documentation, design specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting guides for rack solutions products.
• Attend trade shows, customer visits, and project deployments at customer sites as needed. Up to 25% travel required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 15+ years of hands-on experience in data center or server-related roles.
• Proven experience in High-Performance Computing and Rackmount solutions is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer concepts is highly advantageous.
• Strong awareness of data center market trends, competitor analysis, and the strengths and weaknesses of existing and emerging products.
• Strong understanding of the electric power industry, including power generation, transmission, and distribution technologies (transformers, generators, etc.).
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills are essential; you must effectively engage with customers, promote products, answer inquiries, and assimilate feedback.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English is highly preferred to facilitate effective collaboration and communication with our vendors and engineering teams in Asia and Taiwan.

Salary Range

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
