Job Description

As a Principal Product Manager on the M365 Core Copilot Infrastructure team, you will define and drive platform capabilities that enable Copilot Infrastructure scale and agility along with areas supporting model fine-tuning, training, benchmarking, and orchestration for both tenant-specific and BizChat scenarios. You’ll partner with engineering, data science, and scenario teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and compliant AI infrastructure powering Microsoft 365 Copilot and BizChat on a global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform features supporting model onboarding, fine-tuning, benchmarking and inferencing orchestration.

  • Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions for secure, compliant, and performant model deployment and management.

  • Lead requirements gathering, customer/partner engagement, and backlog prioritization for Copilot platform capabilities

  • Drive BizChat infrastructure improvements for low-latency, high-scale serving, and robust evaluation/telemetry.

  • Measure and communicate impact through KPIs such as deployment agility, model quality, and platform health.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development

    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with AI/ML platforms, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems.

  • Experience defining and delivering technical product roadmaps in partnership with engineering and data science.

  • Experience with model training, inferencing, or orchestration platforms.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
