About Tritium

Tritium is a global leader in DC fast charging technology, supporting the world’s transition to electric mobility. Our products are deployed across the globe, and our teams work at the intersection of advanced power electronics, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable innovation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to lead the design and delivery of high-performance, production-ready power electronics hardware across our charger platforms.

This is a senior technical authority role, responsible for architectural decisions, design integrity, and technical risk management across switching converters, magnetics, thermal systems, and sensing architectures. You will play a critical role in ensuring our power modules meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety as they transition into high-volume production.

Based in Brisbane and reporting to the VP, Charger Technology, this is a hands-on leadership position working closely with systems, control, manufacturing, and quality teams.

What you’ll do

  • Lead architecture and design of advanced power electronics hardware
  • Deliver robust, production-ready solutions across converters, magnetics, thermal and sensing systems
  • Direct validation strategy, test planning, and technical risk assessments
  • Conduct deep simulation and analytical modelling across electrical, magnetic, and thermal domains
  • Lead complex root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions
  • Mentor engineers and elevate overall hardware engineering standards
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives and intellectual property generation
  • Drive continuous improvement aligned to high-volume manufacturing

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10–15 years’ experience in power electronics product development
  • Proven success delivering hardware into high-volume manufacturing
  • Deep expertise in switching converters, magnetics design, and thermal management
  • Strong simulation, modelling, and analytical capability
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of full hardware product lifecycle from concept to production

Why Tritium?

  • Work on technology that’s genuinely shaping the future of transport, not just talking about it.
  • See your impact in the real world, with our chargers deployed globally.
  • Free on-site DC fast charging for your EV.
  • Novated leasing and meaningful employee savings benefits.
  • Flexible access to your earned wages.
  • Global career pathways in a high-performance engineering environment.
