Level: 4 – Expert

Location: Västerås, Sweden (100% on-site + travel up to 10% domestic and international)

Scope: Full Time (100%)

Period: 2026-05-01 to 2027-04-30 (Extension possible)

Language: Swedish and English (fluent in both spoken and written – mandatory)

We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer for one of our clients in Västerås. In this senior expert role, you will independently lead complex mechanical engineering tasks for high voltage power systems and substations. You will plan, design, and coordinate mechanical solutions, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery while proactively improving operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate complex mechanical engineering activities for high voltage power systems and substations

  • Prepare designs, specifications, and technical documentation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers on project execution

  • Provide technical support and act as a consultant on advanced studies

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, budgets, and schedules

  • Travel up to 10% (domestic and international)

Who You Are

Must-Have Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience (including leadership), OR another technical degree with 15+ years experience

  • Previous experience with high voltage power systems, substations, or MV/HV switchgears

  • Basic knowledge of applicable standards (EN, IEC)

  • Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English (mandatory)

  • Valid SSG-Entré certificate

  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Västerås with up to 10% travel

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge in CAD tools (e.g., Revit)

  • Other language skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
