Purpose:

Participate in producing instrument location plans, instrument installation details, SPI wiring reports, SPI loop diagrams, design cabinet and/or panel fabrication drawings. Develop building and/or analyzer shelter layouts. Revise existing client design drawings and documentation. Model offline instrumentation and major instrument and controls equipment in the 3D model. Create Material Take Off for instrument bulks. Attend 3D model reviews and answer instrumentation installation related questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to work confidently and comfortably within SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software.
  • Mark-up or correct P&IDs based on instrumentation work scope.
  • Perform field surveys and supervise designers on the survey team.
  • Manage design budgets, update project schedule for design deliverables and report progress.
  • Participate in interactive planning sessions with Lead Engineer and Scheduler to define design deliverable schedule dates for the project schedule.
  • Work with instrumentation Lead Engineer on pro-services estimate.
  • Coordinate design workshare activities with the India workshare design team. Hold weekly coordination meetings with the workshare office (early morning or late evening hours are possible).
  • Define and develop construction work packages and job notes.
  • Communicate with Piping, Electrical, Civil, and other Engineering disciplines effectively.
  • Evaluate bid packages from Mechanical and other disciplines.
  • Check Piping isometrics for instrument tap orientations, material, upstream and downstream diameters for inline instrumentation, and valve face-to-face dimensions.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment due to accelerated schedules.
  • Ensures all design work performed adheres to safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Drives innovative solutions and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
  • Mentor less experienced Designers on the design team.
  • Ensure team members adherence to Worley accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, customer specifications and standards.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience supervising and directing (2 or more) designers in the execution of projects
  • 3+ years’ experience working with international workshare teams thru correspondence, Microsoft Teams, or other video conferencing software
  • Willing to travel to jobsites and/or Vendor Manufacturing locations
  • Knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. NEC, ISA)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • 3+ years’ experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) – Instrument Index, Wiring and Loop Drawing Modules
  • 3D Modeling Software (E3D, S3D, PDMS)

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Experience in Refining, Petrochemical or Specialty Chemical industries

Preferred:

  • 13+ years’ experience in Refining, Petrochemical or Specialty Chemical industries
