Principal Engineer, Infrastructure Services (I8)

What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide world‑class technical expertise by designing, deploying, and operating complex, software‑defined infrastructure platforms. You will act as a technical leader, contributing to architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders across networking, security, storage, and application teams.

You will play a key role in ensuring platform stability, scalability, and performance while driving technical excellence and operational best practices.

You will:

• • Design, deploy, and operate Dell PowerFlex infrastructure, integrating compute, storage, and software‑defined networking for enterprise environments.
  • Architect and support VMware NSX‑T (mandatory) for network virtualization, micro‑segmentation, and security across VMware and PowerFlex platforms.
  • Administer and optimize the VMware stack (vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN where applicable) to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Build and manage infrastructure on Dell PowerEdge servers, including provisioning, lifecycle management, and advanced L3/L4 incident troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical leadership by driving architecture reviews, documentation (HLD/LLD, SOPs), cross‑team collaboration, and mentoring engineers.

Essential Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience with Dell PowerFlex including deployment, scaling, lifecycle management, SDS/SDC architecture, fault domains, performance tuning, and integration with VMware workloads.
• Mandatory expertise in VMware NSX‑T, covering architecture, logical switching and routing, micro‑segmentation, distributed firewall policies, load balancing, and advanced NSX networking and security troubleshooting.
• Deep expertise in the VMware stack, including ESXi and vCenter administration, VM lifecycle management, clustering, HA/DRS, and performance monitoring and optimization.
• Hands‑on experience with Dell PowerEdge servers, including server provisioning, BIOS/firmware, RAID and NIC configuration, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Strong foundation in physical and virtual data‑center networking (mandatory), including VLANs, VXLAN, TCP/IP, MTU/jumbo frames, LACP, high‑availability designs, and collaboration with network teams on ToR switches, cabling, optics, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• 8–12 years of enterprise infrastructure experience, supporting large‑scale data centers with demonstrated exposure to solution design, architecture, or technical lead roles.

Desirable Requirements

• Exposure to modern HCI and cloud‑native platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift (on‑prem or hybrid) and Nutanix HCI (AOS, Prism, AHV – hands‑on or conceptual).
