
We are looking for a Principal HVDC Transmission Transformer Design Engineer (Electrical) to join the HVDC Transformer Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK, bringing deep technical knowledge in transformer electrical and mechanical design, typically gained in 10/15 years of experience.
In this key role, you will ensure that our transformer products are developed in accordance with the highest standards in design, quality, and manufacturing.
Reporting directly to the Site Leader, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating design risks early in the process, ensuring robust and reliable solutions for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) applications that support the global green energy transition.

Stafford is ideally suited for research and advanced manufacturing with our highly skilled staff and position at the heart of the UK's transport network. GE is proud to be the largest employer in Stafford, with around 1,700 employees across multiple sites.
The transformer facility has been renowned all over the world with its expertise in design, manufacturing, and delivery of HVAC and HVDC transformers world-wide, up to 800kV.
