Worley Consulting provides a full range of geotechnical consultancy services with a strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation. Worley Consulting’s geotechnical team within the EMEA region currently comprises specialists based in the UK and UAE. We are looking to expand capability into our Madrid location.
The geotechnical division supports commissions within Worley Consulting but also mainline Worley Services and specialist subsea sectors.
The geotechnical team sits within Worley Consulting’s Environment and Sustainability group comprising Decommissioning, Restoration and Geosciences, Environment and Society and Water Solution service lines. In addition to these services, Worley Consulting provides engineering and technical consultancy expertise to the energy and resources sectors.
ROLE DETAILS & RESPONSIBILITIES
This vacancy is for a talented Principal or near Principal level geotechnical Engineer with strong technical, communication and team leadership skills, who is eager to work with a group of dynamic individuals and contribute to the growth of our Geosciences practice in EMEA.
This is full-time, permanent position based in our Madrid office. The successful applicant will provide technical leadership on geotechnical inputs and will work with our internal teams and external customers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
This position would suit an ambitious individual with 12 years plus relevant professional experience, who is looking to further advance their career in geotechnical consultancy sector and contribute to the continued success and further growth of Worley Consulting.

Core Responsibilities will include the following:
Technical leadership, project direction and project management, ensuring high levels of technical quality and operational performance;
Demonstrate exceptional Safety Leadership on your projects and within your team;
Leadership and line management of high performing teams, including responsibility for mentoring and training of staff;
Work with Worley Consulting business development teams and Client Relationship Managers to identify client needs and opportunities both as stand-alone work packages and as a component of larger Worley Consulting pursuits; and,
Collaborate with Global Worley Consulting technical networks and interface with other regional offices and teams in North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
A minimum of 12 years of experience practicing geotechnical engineering, ranging from pre-feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction.
Ability to work in multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Plaxis and Geostudio software
Experience with Leapfrog and Openground software suites
Self-starter, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks.
Be able to write clear, logical and concise technical reports in English.
Demonstrate logical and independent thinking.
Geotechnical design in accordance with Eurocodes
Strong ability to present, analyse and interpret data to a very high standard.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Leading a team and mentoring of staff
Working across multi-disciplinary projects
Willingness to travel for site visits and short-term site supervision across Europe, Africa and the Middle East
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution, including a strong commitment to continuing professional development (CPD). Candidates with Geotechnical Engineering background are essential
