About the Role

As an Automotive Cybersecurity and Functional Safety Architect, you will drive the design and integration of safety- and security-by-design solutions for Central Control Units (CCUs) and High-Performance Computers (HPCs), mainly within ADAS/AD and Infotainment/Cockpit domains. This role requires a senior-level expert who can technically lead cross-disciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 and ISO 26262, as well as safeguarding next-generation automotive platforms.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development of functional safety and cybersecurity architectures for CCUs and HPCs in ADAS/AD and Infotainment/Cockpit domains.
  • Act as the expert for ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434 compliance, including safety design patterns and threat (TARA) analysis, safety/security concepts, and verification strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and domain experts to integrate safety and cybersecurity requirements seamlessly into system design.
  • Guide and mentor teams in creating robust safety/security work products (e.g., safety plans, safety cases, cybersecurity plans).
  • Continuously provide input to improve processes and best practices to align with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., UN/ECE R155, ISO 21448 SOTIF).

What You Need to Be Successful

  • A thorough understanding of automotive functional safety and cybersecurity standards (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
  • Demonstrable with AUTOSAR, QNX, embedded Linux, MISRA C/C++, and tools such as DOORS, JIRA.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of TARA, threat modeling, secure boot, ASIL decomposition, fault-tolerant design, and safety/security mechanisms.
  • Well-versed in cross-functional collaboration, requirements traceability, and lifecycle management in Tier 1 automotive projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork across functions and global teams while conveying complex technical topics with clarity.
  • Driven, Self-motivated, and eager to learn, with the ability to adjust to evolving challenges.
  • Strong sense of ownership with an analytical, results-driven, and goal-oriented mindset.

What Makes You Eligible

  • A Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in safety-critical automotive systems with proven expertise in architecture, analysis, and compliance.
  • Recognized certifications such as Certified Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 26262) or ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity Professional.
  • Experience working directly with Tier 1 suppliers and/or OEMs in the ADAS/Infotainment space.
  • Exposure to global automotive programs, including collaboration across geographies.
  • Fluent in English is a must; German language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE processes and model-based development environments.

  • Willing to travel occasionally for customer or supplier workshops.
  • Flexible and able to support cross-time-zone collaboration when needed.
