PSE's Financial Planning & Analysis team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Principal Financial Analyst - Anaplan position!

As part of a significant finance and budget transformation, PSE is implementing Anaplan and S/4 HANA to modernize systems and processes that support more than $5 billion in annual revenue.


We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to play a pivotal role in this transformation. In this position, you will serve as a key representative for the Budgeting team during the implementation of Anaplan, supporting both O&M and capital spend initiatives. Following implementation, you will act as an expert contributor to the Anaplan Center of Excellence.


Following implementation, you will take the lead in building and managing the Anaplan Center of Excellence, establishing best practices, governance, and long-term value for the enterprise.


In addition to transformation responsibilities, you will support the broader Finance organization by developing advanced analytical tools and performing both qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform decision-making, support corporate initiatives, and solve complex business challenges.

Job Responsibilities

System Implementation & Transformation (40%)

  • Serve as key FP&A representative during the Anaplan implementation, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured and translated into system functionality
  • Collaborate with IT, system integrators, and cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy budgeting solutions for both O&M and capital expenditures
  • Lead user acceptance testing and coordinate training programs for Finance and Business users
  • Support S/4 HANA integration efforts to ensure seamless data flow between systems
  • Document new processes, procedures, and system configurations to support go-live activities

Anaplan Center of Excellence Leadership (25%)

  • Develop governance frameworks, best practices, and standardized methodologies for platform usage
  • Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Anaplan users across the organization
  • Evaluate and implement system enhancements, new modules, and optimization opportunities
  • Monitor system performance and user adoption metrics

Financial Analysis & Planning (25%)

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models supporting budget development and forecasting processes
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights on budget-to-actual performance for assigned business units
  • Support annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles with detailed analysis and recommendations
  • Create executive-level presentations and dashboards to communicate financial performance and trends
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions
  • Partner with business units to understand operational drivers and translate into financial impacts

Strategic Support & Process Improvement (10%)

  • Support corporate initiatives through financial modeling, business case development, and ROI analysis
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and regulatory initiatives
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in utility finance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and/or equivalent experience with progressively increasing level of responsibility
  • 5+ years in finance roles with progressively increasing levels of responsibility
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision in a fast paced, stressful, and multitasking environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA
  • Previous experience with SAP S/4 HANA or similar ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and create capacity
  • Ability to adapt and react to unforeseen business decisions and situations
  • Experience leading and delivering projects under tight deadlines
  • 2-5 years of Anaplan Model Building

The pay range for this position is $94,300.00 - $156,900.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
