Northrop Grumman’s Western Region Space Sector is seeking a self-motivated, dynamic individual to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA as a Principal Facilities Planner (Level 3)

This position is 100% onsite and does not accommodate telecommute or hybrid work.

This role is distinguished from a standard facilities planner position by its focus on managing and forecasting space utilization across office environments, including increased project ownership, headcount alignment, scenario planning, management of schedule milestones, and use of data sources to maintain accurate building occupancy information across the campus.

In This Role, You Will

  • Deliver planning packages, occupancy forecasts, and headcount alignment plans
  • Plan utilization of office space to support organizational efficiency, available facilities, and budget, ensuring future office space needs are met
  • Formulate, recommend, and ensure adherence to approved standards and guidelines related to office space and furnishings
  • Serve as liaison with owners of leased office space for planning and execution of alterations/leasehold improvements, occupancy, and adherence to lease allowances and terms
  • Collaborate daily with building users; provide timely communication on processes, and review standards and requirements associated with requests
  • Demonstrate a high level of written and verbal communication in support of stakeholders at all levels
  • Prepare and deliver information and presentations to executive leadership and other key customers
  • Partner with the Manager of Projects and Planning to identify building issues and develop solutions that ensure consistent customer support
  • Coordinate the work of employees assigned to projects and support both internal and external customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage space planning responsibilities for multiple buildings, supporting a broad range of project sizes and scopes
  • Develop fit plans, including current and proposed furniture layouts, incorporating power, data, and safety requirements
  • Review and approve move requests and collaborate with the move coordination team
  • Access and update the facilities database on a daily basis; track and monitor the status of submitted facility tickets for moves and maintenance
  • Advise leadership and team members on program- and project-related status and key decisions
  • Enforce change management processes related to space and occupancy
  • Effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, from hourly staff through executives

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant professional experience; 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience and working knowledge of facilities-related topics such as electrical, phone, data, audio-visual (AV), and general maintenance associated with a large, multi-building campus
  • Demonstrated experience successfully interacting with customers and facilities vendors; ability to serve effectively as a liaison with external partners
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret and/or SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Facilities Management Systems (e.g., Archibus, Maximo, etc.)
  • Current active Top Secret or SCI (SSBI) clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
