Key Responsibilities

  • Supports proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.
  • Will be called upon to lead all or part of the technical proposal.
  • Planning of man hour budgets, schedules, manpower loadings and staffing requirements, by skill and experience, to satisfy project requirements and direction given by the Discipline Manager.
  • Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences.
  • Mentors/trains and supports the delivery of training.
  • Works to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and customer issues.
  • Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Develop environmental strategies for project approvals.
  • Co-ordinate and manage regulatory approval processes.
  • Environmental engineering Deliverables in Conceptual through Detail Design for a wide range of engineering projects.
    • Permitting studies including ESHIA.
    • Environmental impact modelling.
    • Solid and Hazardous Waste management studies.
    • Discharge and emissions assessments including MARPOL.
    • Master planning.
    • Sustainability Assessment.
    • Air pollution control studies.
  • Identify requirements for, and scope, of required environmental studies.
  • Network and inter-discipline departments. Interface management with the Client.
  • Conduct Environmental HAZID (ENVID) workshops and develop environmental risk registers.
  • Contribute to HAZOP workshops as required.
  • Contribute to Formal Safety Assessments.
  • Co-ordinate reliability studies, including FMEA and RAM, where applicable to environmental aspects.
  • Review environmental criteria in design phases of projects.
  • Develop, or contribute to, Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental management plans (EMP) including CEMP & OEMP.
  • Oversee implementation of EMSs and EMPs.
  • Undertake site audits on EMS/EMPs as required.
  • Ability to identify and raise suite of Project Procedures & Deliverables.
  • CTR Management & progress reporting.
  • Estimation of work scopes & CTR.
  • Manage a team of professional and technical people.
  • Act as mentor to graduate, design and project engineers, technicians and technical specialists.
  • Liaise with the local community and other stakeholders on all consulting matters.

Quality Assurance

  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
  • Work with project managers/project engineers to ensure all projects are set up and executed in full compliance with all the requirements of the Worley Project Management Process (WPMP) and General Management System (EMS) using consistent approaches, Work Breakdown Structures, work methodologies and reporting systems.
  • Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.

Safety

  • Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures
  • Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.

Industry Specific Experience:

  • Extensive work experience at a senior level within the industry.
  • Relevant years’ experience in Environmental engineering studies for Municipal, Industrial and Hydrocarbon and Petrochemical facilities and related infrastructure.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Engineering Degree in Environmental Science or other related discipline from an accredited University.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Environmental Studies (Masters or Doctorate) is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a regulatory authority is desirable.

Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project Environment.
  • Permitting studies including ESHIA, plant environmental audits.
    • Environmental impact modelling.
    • Solid and Hazardous Waste management studies.
    • Water and Wastewater environmental pollution control.
    • Discharge and emissions assessments including MARPOL.
    • Master planning.
    • Sustainability Assessment.
    • Water and Waste Recover-Recycle-Reuse studies.
    • Air pollution control studies.
  • HSE Register Extensive experience in environmental engineering studies for Municipal, Industrial and Hydrocarbon /Petrochemical facilities and related infrastructure.
