The Solar and Grid Solutions Department champions solar deployment and drives the adoption of grid solutions through technology development, policy reviews, and system integration. Our work aims to maximise Singapore's solar potential and build a flexible, resilient grid that supports Singapore's energy transition.
About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Engineer or Senior Principal Engineer to join the Grid Solutions Branch. In this role, you will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of smart grid and energy storage systems (ESS) operations-technology roadmaps, R&D initiatives, and technical testbeds and pilots.
This is a high-impact role at the forefront of Singapore's energy transition. You will need a deep understanding of power system and electricity grid requirements, energy market dynamics, and the concept of operations underpinning grid and ESS solutions.
[What you will be working on]
What You Will Do
Develop and execute an operations-technology roadmap for grid and ESS solutions that supports Singapore's energy transition goals.
Evaluate emerging grid and ESS technologies for their potential to address power system needs and accelerate the energy transition.
Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies to assess the safety of ESS technologies.
Oversee grid and ESS R&D initiatives, testbeds, and pilots, ensuring they deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes.
Collaborate closely with government agencies, industry leaders, and technology providers to translate strategies into practical, deployable solutions.
[What we are looking for]
What We Are Looking For
A postgraduate qualification in electrical engineering or a related field is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical, economic, and operational concepts into actionable insights and practical strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
Experience and knowledge in the power system, electricity market, and electricity grid and ESS technologies and projects is a plus.
